Bob Schneider

Evan passed along the news that at a show in Amarillo last night, Bob Schneider confirmed that he is playing the festival.

Comments:
WOW...what a suprise!!!

I like Bob

pfft..he's so over-rated.

I <3 Bob

can you say EGOMANIAC!!!!

omg, i'm on his site and all i want to to do is hear a freakin' song but he just keeps talkin'! ego indeedee...or maybe just lonely?

Bob who?

Bob, Bob, Bob, Its coming back... O yah, Cher!

wait the inscure singer i mean the singer who inscure girls like?

by the way it is insecure

That would be unbelievably amazing. Doubt it so much though.

Care to give more details wizzle?

hmm. the who.... they are touring Europe this summer and there was talk of a US tour later this year.... very interesting. not sure if big 'ol wizzle pulled this out of his rear, but it may not be out of the question....

Lots of reliable sources saying unreliable things. Somethings gotta give, so to speak.

I guess The Who are possible, they will be on the road. They are pretty active on the European Festival front.

If they are booked, get ready for the all the whining about the Fest having too many oldie rock acts.

The Who's current tour schedule, lots of Festival dates. Why not? When is the last time The Who played Austin? Their recent reunion tours have skipped Austin (and San Antonio for that matter).

Of course, the nit picky will ask, can this really be The Who without Keith Moon and John Entwhistle?

the who?

redicoulous

we already have our probable top 3 headliners in tom petty, ben harper, and the flaming lips.

i was instantly dissapointed when I saw ben, because I know they will give him a top billing, and he is there too often.

The Flaming Lips weren't even a headliner down here at the little 2 day S. Florida music festival, Langerado. I don't think they will be billed as a headliner for ACL...but I have been wrong before

BoDeans added on Pollstar...

Bob Schneider.
Wake me up when I start caring.
Yawn

i'm surprised i havent seen much speculation about string cheese incident as the saturday jam band headliner. they filled the double jam band slot in 02 and 03 and havent been to austin in a good while either.

what about the queen+paul rodgers rumors?

Band of Horses? What about Band Of Horses, new album, buzz band, fits the Americana-esque theme of ACL I think they're a good vote for this festival.

band of horses would be a great choice for the festival this year. keep those fingers crossed.

too bad it's not robert schneider. the apples in stereo would be amazing.

I loved Bob Schneider in the Dukes of Hazzard!

Apples in Stereo are supposed to be touring this fall they are releasing a new record soon!!!!! It might be a good possibility.

I heard through the grapevine for someone that works for southwest sports and entertainment that blues traveler have confirmed!

blues traveler is a given, since they are managed by attal. also what made miluakee famous is another liekly managed by attal. ben kweller who is already confirmed is the same deal

I was looking up a couple of my local favorites recently and it occured to me that Polyphonic Spree and Midlake may be in the running. They both have new albums coming out, they are both out of Texas, and Midlake is currently touring with the Flaming Lips. And if the Spree shows up then Pilotdrift isn't far behind. I guess we'll see soon enough.

Spree may have angered the ACL gods when they refused to stop playing at the festival in 2003 and ran into Jack Johnson's set (completely overpowering and drowning him out on the next stage). Personally, it might have been my favorite moment of the festival.

Let's hopet they are invited back.

Steely Dan !

Steely Dan is already playing Verizon Wireless in San Antonio in July.

What festivals have they played or are set to play.

Seems to be there, they prefer to do the shed circuit on their own.

No reason to think they are going to play ACL.

Any word on when the lineup will be announced?

I'm almost certain it's the 11th, that's what it said during the Scavenger Hunt, so that should be assumed to be our date unless it doesn't show on the 11th. Wikipedia says the 18th, but Wiki also said Clapton earlier today.

wiki says nickel creek right now.

"wiki says nickel creek right now."

As does pollstar.com

Don't trust Wiki, it is not the gospel. Some of us update it when a reliable confirmation comes in.

Put, any ole dipshit can edit at will. So, anything could be up there. There have been numerous cases of the Wiki entry being corrupted, luckily it won't stay messed up for long.

for example, i put green day and u2 up there out of whim....just to see if anyone would believe it

No new news from the blog?

What time is the schedule usually announced? I'm getting antsy.
